My Future As A Music Therapist - 929 Words

At the beginning of the semester, we had to identify some personal goals that we wanted to work on over the semester. The first goal that I wanted to work on was to improve my ability to formulate goals and objectives as well as improve on writing and professional notes. I have made progress towards this goal, and will continue to work on ways to improve as I embark on my future as a music therapist. I spent a lot of time over the semester asking Lauren for guidance on how to become better with my writing skills. She gave me some helpful pointers and titles of some literature that I am going to try to purchase that focuses on helping people improve with these skills. By the end of the semester, I started challenging myself by coming up with more than one goal for each session that I planned. For each goal I would develop a minimum of two objectives. I felt that this really helped strengthen my abilities to formulate effective session plans based around the goals and objectives. Once I started to become more comfortable with my goal and objective formulations, the rest of my writing and documentation skills started to show improvement as well. Before, I had a difficult time writing out my session plans, but I started developing them with my goals in mind at all times. He tells of how immigrants envisioned the American dream and told of their attempts of achieving the dream that they were told of.
